...And we're back to our regular programming...

I'm back from my vacation in Saskatchewan and had a blast. Lots of hot weather this year. But how the time flew by!! Tuesday has rolled around and we're back onto our regular weekly updates. Hope you enjoyed the vacation cartoons. Now we return to our current storyline already in progress. The "BOOGIE Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B" referred to in EP232 was a big Andrews Sisters hit from many, many years ago (65 years to be exact). Bette Midler redid it in the 70's. And of course, "Oh What a Beautiful Morning" is from the musical "Oklahoma!" Take notes, there's going to be a test.

I'm baaaaaaaaack...

Yes, the summer vacation is over. We had wonderful weather in Saskatchewan. Most of the time was spent at the lake. I did a lot of relaxing, visiting with family and old friends, and a little bit of canoeing, swimming and horseback riding. I'll have to figure out a good way to put some of the photos on the website.

In case you are wondering, the current comic was sent to me by my nephew, Liam. I didn't ask him to draw it, he just did it and mailed it to me (with his Dad's help). I was very pleased to get it. So much so, I put it on my website. The text is a little hard to read, but I didn't want to change the artist's work except to clearly present it on the screen as if you were looking at the original paper. I love the 11th frame: "How'd you do that?" "Pumpin' iron, baby!!". I'll have to get my nephew to do some more episodes.

Currently, I'm back at the drawing board getting the next episodes done. It was nice to have a break from cartooning, but it's good to be back. There's lots more stories to do. We'll be back to the regular schedule starting Tuesday, Aug 29th.

Gay pride week is this week in Ottawa. The pride flag is up and flying at city hall. I'm not sure if we're having a parade this year (due to finances, etc). If we are, it will be this weekend. Hope the weather cooperates.
