This year's christmas special was a little hard to read. I did this cartoon long before we had webcomics, so the format of the original drawings doesn't work well. The drawings and writing are too small and enlarging them didn't help. So I added text so it could be easily read. In frame two, you can see an early version of Fang the cat (yes, that is a cat jumping out of the tree). Also, the two other characters are Joe and Arnie. At the time I did this card, Arnie didn't have a name.
EP206 was alot of fun to do. When my Mom did her sex ed course for us in high school, she did show a slide of an erect penis (real colour pictures too!). No one knew she was going to do this, and the girls just screamed when they saw it. It was really funny.
Now for the holiday schedule announcement:
Next week (Dec 20th), we'll have the annual christmas special which is a cartoon selected from previously unreleased material in my paper archives. We'll follow with two New Years specials on Dec 27th and Jan 3rd. On Jan 10th, we'll return to our regular schedule.
Well, it's December already. Where did the time go! This last weekend the Christmas... I mean... the Holiday tree went up along with all the other decorations. The outside decorations took a little longer than expected with three trips to Canadian Tire for LED lights (don't ask). I've always loved the lights ever since I was a kid. I used to wake up early and go downstairs and turn on the Christmas lights and fall asleep by the tree. I think that's what made my parents get an artifical tree. I got a few packages sent off in the mail already, but I have to get at the Christmas... I mean... the Holiday cards. Other than that, there's just a few last minute gifts to get and I'll be set. I'm heading home to Saskatoon as usual and am looking forward to it. I hope we'll have some snow. Next week some time, I'll announce the Christmas... I mean... the Holiday schedule for Straight Ahead.
